Speed Challenge privacy
PolyNome operates this optional public competition. Contact support@polynome.net about your information or privacy rights.
What you submit
The app sends your result, test duration and category, attempt date, stroke timings and chart measurements, app version and a reference to its own video recording. We receive no video or audio file. Unfinished entries stay on your device. The app sends the result only after you supply a display name and a public YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads, Reddit or Vimeo video link and choose Submit to Leaderboard.
Published names, results, dates, charts and social links are public. Your published attempts are connected on a public player page so visitors can see your progress. Please choose a display name you are comfortable publishing. The social service controls the original video and its privacy settings.
Video previews
For YouTube links, your browser may load a thumbnail directly from YouTube’s image service. That service receives ordinary network information, including your IP address, when the image loads. We send no submission credentials and use no embedded video player. Other supported platforms show a watch link; opening a performance takes you to that social service.
Identity and control
No email or account registration is required. Each app installation keeps a private player identifier and secure management credential on your device. We store a hash of that credential. Different apps or devices are not automatically linked. Losing access to the credential can prevent in-app management; you can still request help removing your information.
Storage and retention
Cloudflare processes and stores the service data for PolyNome. Unfinished entries in the current app flow are stored on your device. The service accepts new entries only with a score, display name and public video link. Withdrawing an entry hides it from the public while keeping its details so you can restore the same entry later. Published and withdrawn entries do not expire automatically. You can permanently remove an online entry at any time. Removal erases the submitted measurements and public details from the active service. Minimal opaque identifiers and security hashes can remain to prevent delayed requests from recreating deleted entries. Infrastructure logs, security records and provider backups may temporarily retain related data under their retention schedules; they are not public leaderboards.
The service uses short-lived request counters to limit abuse. It does not use advertising trackers or require a website login cookie. Ordinary hosting services process network information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the service.
Your choices and rights
Participation and publication are optional. Withdraw an entry to hide it, or remove it through the app. You may also request access, correction or deletion through support, including removal of your whole published history. We may ask for proportionate evidence of ownership. Rights depend on applicable law; UK users can raise concerns with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
